Love Letters

Jun 6, 2020

Like marriage wasn't hard enough for some of us before coronavirus, self-quarantining, N95 masks, social-distancing, and shelter-in-place orders. Phil and I had both been divorced before we got married. We were not good at marriage. But God moved in and taught us what marriage is by showing us His design for it. He changed everything and, for us, it started with forgiveness. If you are interested in attending ReEngage (the marriage ministry we talk about) then please visit their website to find a church near you who offers it!

Trust in the Lord with all your heart
    and lean not on your own understanding;

 in all your ways submit to him,
    and he will make your paths straight.

Proverbs 3:5-6

Wives, submit yourselves to your own husbands as you do to the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife as Christ is the head of the church, his body, of which he is the Savior. Now as the church submits to Christ, so also wives should submit to their husbands in everything.

Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her to make her holy, cleansing her by the washing with water through the word, and to present her to himself as a radiant church, without stain or wrinkle or any other blemish, but holy and blameless. In this same way, husbands ought to love their wives as their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself.

Ephesians 5:22-28
